I've known for years I was meant to have a career in public relations. I was never the person to question what I wanted to do, or what I wanted with my life. I'm not shy, I've never been shy. I'm about as Type A as it gets; organized, direct and independent. I love a great conversation, building relationships with new people and experiencing new things.

I was involved in student government and was the head of the prom committee for our high school. That's really where I thoroughly understood how exactly I wanted to use my skills. Although I was involved in small committees throughout university it was the prom committee experience that made me want to work in public relations. From communicating with vendors, the decorators or caterers to running multiple fundraisers at once, I was hooked. I later went on to manage a children's program and team of counsellors where I planned daily activities, outings and guest speakers. All of the skills needed for these positions like scheduling, organizing, planning - this is what I'm great at. I knew I wanted a job I loved and I could use what I'm great at.

I've always had clear goals and objectives. I graduated from Mount Allison University knowing I wanted to go into public relations. I joined the graduate program in PR at NSCC knowing I'd graduate with a diploma in public relations. However, I never thought I'd love the program as much as I do. I didn't think I'd be so excited to begin my new career. I'm ready and confident for this new adventure and I'm excited to see where it takes me.

I look forward to connecting with you.
